Covid disinfection (or any other pathogen)

Today Counterfog® is being used in hotels and restaurants, ambulances, police cars, and institutions of all kinds to disinfect environments against covid and other pathogens.

The Counterfog® disinfection system can eliminate any virus, whatever its infective degree, because it envelops or aggregates the aerosols in water droplets,

 

endowing them with greater mass and precipitating them to the ground, where they can be safely collected.

Respiratory viruses, as Coronavirus, are usually transmitted by droplets that we generate when speaking, breathing or singing. These aerosols can remain in the air for hours, so the most effective way is to attack them in their element: the air itself.

That air combat against Covid19 is achieved with drops of the same size of the virus with a dynamic ability to draw it, to collide onto it, to embed it, and eventually to collapse it.

Counterfog® disinfection system generates a cyclone or a fog cone of nanometric droplets that capture all air-borne particles becoming bigger drops that end up deposited on surfaces.

 

Removing that virus, those aerosols from the environment (both indoors and outdoors) it would have a huge impact on the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

Smoke control 

Smoke control is one of the biggest challenges in a fire because most of the casualties come from smoke. But Counterfog® provides the most effective and environmentally friendly technology for fast air decontamination and smoke control.

Counterfog® technology hastes the natural scavenging of particulate matter using just air and water,

 

and can be used safely in forest fires as well as in factories, shopping malls, apartment buildings or houses with large numbers of people.

The Counterfog® specifically designed nozzle provides a dynamic fog cone made of compressed air and submicrometric water droplets.

Millions of submicrometric droplets quickly merge to become much bigger and simultaneously to embed the particles, collapsing onto the ground.

The jet of fog can be directed towards a surface and the big droplets embedding the particles collide against the surface where they can be drained and removed.

A F05 Counterfog® nozzle has demonstrated to remove 99.99% of 2.5 micron particles of smoke in a room after just 30 s of application.

 

Moreover, a series of nozzles can create a barrier to smoke, preventing it to flow through.

If needed, it may help to suppress fire and to cool gases with a great efficiency: Between 4 and 5 minutes of activation of a small Counterfog® F1/6 nozzle are enough to reduce 2 orders of magnitude the 2.5 micron particles in a typical 150 square feet room.

 

Elimination of toxic clouds (CBRN)

Counterfog® technology has been tested in worst-case scenarios: the elimination of toxic clouds in chemical plant fires, nuclear power plant damage releases, even in terrorist attacks with biological weapons such as anthrax or sarin gas.

These particles are capable of traveling thousands of kilometers in the air and, if inhaled, constitute an undoubted risk to human health.

In fact, Counterfog was initially designed as an effective technological response to possible attacks of this nature, at the request of the European Commission.

 

However, in all the laboratory tests carried out in collaboration with official European organizations (such as the Spanish army), it was shown that such harmful situations change radically as soon as Counterfog comes into action.
